Logistics Google Ads negative keywords: how to use these files Vektor Group, 8 October 2026. Source page: https://vektorgroup.eu/marketing/resources/logistics-google-ads-negative-keywords WHAT IS IN THIS FOLDER logistics-google-ads-negative-keyword-candidates.csv The master list: 59 candidate negatives with intent_category, term, use_case (the campaign types it suits), suggested_match_type, rationale and keep_if. Read this one first. freight-rfq-campaign-negatives-editor.csv (50 candidates) warehouse-3pl-campaign-negatives-editor.csv (38 candidates) carrier-sourcing-campaign-negatives-editor.csv (27 candidates) driver-recruitment-campaign-negatives-editor.csv (16 candidates) One file per campaign type, cut from the master list. Each has two columns, Keyword and Match type. These are candidates, not a list to apply as it stands. Nothing here changes an account by itself. The driver recruitment file contains no recruitment, job, salary or training term, and no recruitment term should go into any list that reaches a hiring campaign. STEP 1. REVIEW BEFORE ADDING ANYTHING Open the search terms report for the campaign. Google: "If a search term isn't relevant enough to the products or services you offer, add it as a negative keyword." Google also omits low volume search terms from the report for privacy, so some searches will not appear. https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2472708 Compare the file with the campaign's own keywords and delete any candidate that overlaps one. Google: "Make sure that your negative keywords don't overlap with your regular keywords, because this will cause your ad not to show." https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7102995 Read each keep_if condition in the master file against what you sell. Delete the rows that do not apply. Add singular, plural and synonym lines where your buyers use them. Google: negatives need "synonyms and singular or plural versions"; casing and misspellings are handled automatically. https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2453972 The terms are English. A campaign in another language needs its own terms. STEP 2. LOAD A CAMPAIGN FILE IN GOOGLE ADS EDITOR Format followed: Google Ads Editor Help, "Change keyword match types", Option 1, an explicit match type column with the values negative broad, negative phrase or negative exact. https://support.google.com/google-ads/editor/answer/47635 Headers: Google Ads Editor Help, "CSV file columns": headers must be in English; Keyword and Match type are listed headers. https://support.google.com/google-ads/editor/answer/57747 Steps: Google Ads Editor Help, "Add negative keywords", Add multiple negative keywords. https://support.google.com/google-ads/editor/answer/30553 1. In Editor select Keywords and Targeting, then Keywords, Negative. 2. Click Make multiple changes. 3. Select Use selected destinations, then Add as campaign-level negative keywords, and choose the campaign. 4. Paste the rows from the edited file into the grid. If Editor asks for column headings, choose Keyword and Match type. 5. Click Process, then Finish and review changes. 6. Review the pending changes and click Keep or Reject. Editor cannot add campaign and ad group negatives in the same pass, so these files are written for campaign level. ALTERNATIVE: A SHARED LIST IN THE GOOGLE ADS WEB INTERFACE Google: "Enter or paste one negative keyword per line in the text field." Mark the match type with symbols: quotes for phrase ("used trucks"), square brackets for exact ([logistics]), nothing for broad (salary). Then apply the list only to the campaigns it suits from Tools, Exclusion lists. https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7449003 https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2497836 LIMITS GOOGLE STATES Shared lists: up to 5,000 negatives per list and 20 lists per account (subject to change, Google notes). Account level: 1,000 negatives, applied to Search, Performance Max, App, Shopping, Smart and Local campaigns, so keep recruitment terms out of it if any campaign hires. https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2453983 https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/11396330 Display and Video campaigns treat every negative as broad. These files are written for Search. https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7102995
