United Kingdom Routes
UK–EU freight with full customs clearance included.
UK road freight corridors to and from Europe with customs handled. Full truck load, ADR and temperature-controlled lanes across the Channel.
The paperwork has to exist before the vehicle reaches the port
On UK lanes the border is administrative rather than physical, and that is where loads fail. A GVMS reference, a valid EORI number and a T1 or T2 transit declaration all have to be in place before the truck arrives, not while it queues. A vehicle turned back for a missing reference loses the sailing, and on a specialist tank that can mean days rather than hours.
- Channel Tunnel operates its own dangerous goods regime on top of ADR, refusing class 1 and class 7 outright
- All other dangerous goods require advance declaration unless carried in limited quantities
- Dartford: dangerous goods vehicles exit at junction 1a for escort, with many loads directed over the QEII bridge
- Teesside, Runcorn and Grangemouth are the main UK chemical loading clusters
