Dutch road costs changed in July 2026
Car carrier work from Germany into the Netherlands now carries a Dutch per kilometre charge. The vrachtwagenheffing started on 1 July 2026 and replaced the Eurovignette, applying to domestic and foreign vehicles above 3,500 kg on motorways and part of the provincial network.
Average rate is 19.1 cent per kilometre in 2026, varying by weight, euro class and CO2 class. A temporary 22.3 percent reduction applies from 1 September to 31 December 2026.
German departures pause on Sundays and public holidays from 00:00 to 22:00 for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes. Transporters are typically 8 to 9 cars, so per unit cost moves with how full the deck runs.
