Vehicle carriers for the German seaports
Vektor Group arranges vehicle movements in Europe and is looking for car transporter operators who run to the German export ports. Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Emden and Cuxhaven, on open decks and in enclosed trailers, for finished vehicles going to the quay and for units coming off it.
What a vehicle transporter gets
The things that decide whether a port run is worth taking.
The terminal and the slot, up front
Which terminal, which gate, the delivery window and whether a booking reference already exists. A port run that misses its window is a wasted day, so the window is part of the offer rather than something you discover on arrival.
Deck type matched to the cargo
Open deck, enclosed, high roof or a low clearance load. We record what your rig can take, including vehicle height, weight per deck and whether you can carry non running units.
Empty running stated honestly
Where the load starts, where it ends and what the realistic reload looks like from the port. We do not describe a one way run as a round trip.
One operational contact
The same desk from booking to proof of delivery, including the terminal paperwork.
What we need from you
Four documents and a straight description of the rig.
Transport licence and CMR cover
Community licence and CMR liability insurance at a level that matches the value of the vehicles on the deck.
Deck specification
Number of vehicles, deck configuration, enclosed or open, maximum vehicle height and weight, and whether you carry non running units.
Port experience
Which terminals you have run to, whether your drivers hold the terminal access they need, and how you handle gate and inspection delays.
Where you actually run
Home base, the corridors you cover, and whether you return empty from the coast or reload inland.
Which terminals and which runs
The German export ports handle finished vehicles on a scale that makes the inland leg the constraint rather than the sea leg. Bremerhaven is the largest vehicle terminal in the region, Hamburg handles mixed traffic alongside containers, Emden serves the Volkswagen flows and Cuxhaven takes overflow and specialist units. Most of the work is a run from a plant, a compound or a dealer network toward the quay, with a delivery window that the terminal sets rather than the shipper. We also move units coming off the quay inland. If you already hold terminal access at any of these, say which, because access is the part that cannot be arranged at short notice.
What we do not claim
We do not promise a fixed number of port runs or a standing allocation at any terminal. Vektor Group is a freight brokerage and the work reaches you when a vehicle movement matches your deck, your corridor and your availability. Carriers who hit their windows are called first.
Specialist capacity we are looking for
Three fleets, three pages. If one of them describes your equipment, start there.
